Patient Rights

Mission Hospital Patient Rights (English) (Spanish) (Farsi)
When you or a family member needs hospital care, the doctors, nurses and other professionals at our hospital are committed to working with you to meet your health care needs. Our dedicated staff serve the community in all its ethnic, religious and economic diversity. Our goal is for you and your family to have the same care and attention we would want for our families and ourselves.

This document explains some of the basics about how you can expect to be treated during your hospital stay. They also cover what we will need from you to care for you better. If you have questions at any time, please ask them.

Combines Title 22 and other California laws, The Joint Commission and Medicare Conditions of Participation requirements.

Privacy Policy

At Mission Hospital, we believe that your health information is personal. We keep records of the care and services that you receive at our facilities. We are committed to keeping your health information private. This notice describes how medical information about you may be used and disclosed and how you can gain access.

Authorization for Disclosure of Health Information
Patients, or their legal representative, may inspect, obtain copies of, or have copies of their Mission Hospital medical records sent to another medical facility. Please visit the Medical Records section of the website to review all the requirements.

Advance Directive
An advance healthcare directive lets your physician, family and friends know your healthcare preferences, including the types of special treatment you want or do not want at the end of life, your desire for diagnostic testing, surgical procedures, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and organ donation. By considering your options early, you can ensure the quality of life that is important to you and avoid having your family make critical medical care decisions for you under stress or in emotional turmoil.

Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA)
If you have a medical emergency or are in labor, you have the right to receive appropriate Medical examination.

Notice to Female Patients
If you are pregnant or think you may be, please inform your health care professional before any treatment or procedure begins.
