Our History

Mission Pacific Coast Recovery has been affiliated with Mission Hospital Laguna Beach since 2006 and became part of the Mission Hospital family in 2009. The roots of our recovery center go back to 1975, when it opened as Orange County’s first hospital-based program for drug and alcohol treatment.

Our Mission

We strive to improve the health of our patients and families on every level: body, mind and spirit. With that as our guide, we also strive to be among the nation’s most comprehensive chemical dependency programs, helping each patient achieve and maintain the highest level of recovery.

Our Center

We understand the difficult road ahead for people facing chemical dependency. So we’ve created a nurturing, supportive environment to help them complete the journey as comfortably as possible. We offer 24-hour advanced medical care and a compassionate staff of specialists, just steps from the Pacific Ocean.

As a hospital-based center, we offer comprehensive treatment — including acute medical detoxification, intensive rehabilitation and unique family programs — all in one location. We also have an exclusive treatment track for individuals with chronic pain and chemical dependency. Treatment incorporates a holistic philosophy into a proven 12-step approach, resulting in individualized programs that address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of every patient.

Our success is made possible by both exceptional medical leadership and an outstanding staff. Daniel Headrick, M.D. has more than 20 years of experience treating chemical dependency and chronic pain. He leads our multidisciplinary team of addiction medicine specialists and is expertly supported by physicians, nurses, certified drug/alcohol counselors, therapists, acupuncturists, and recreational therapists.
