Emergency Services

Mission Viejo Emergency Department

The Emergency Department of Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo provides complete patient care, offering specialized treatment rooms for ear/nose/throat problems, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics and chest pain. We also feature eight acute-care beds with ECG monitoring, and a highly specialized staff of doctors, nurses and support personnel.

Community Emergency Care

Our Emergency Department works closely with paramedics in the field to provide medical direction in an emergency and to direct patients to the most appropriate hospital. The department is also a designated Receiving Center that evaluates patients for further treatment, as well as a designated training site for new paramedics.

Concierge Program

Helping patients and families through the stress and uncertainty of an emergency room visit, our helpful concierge acts as a liaison and resource. These specially trained professionals provide support during complicated and emotional times by sharing information, answering questions and communicating among caregivers to help achieve treatment goals and deliver optimum quality care.

Emergency Department "South"

For patients with minor illnesses and injuries, our Mission Viejo campus offers the Emergency Department South (ED South).  ED South patients may be treated more rapidly and are usually discharged within an average of 90 minutes of their arrival to the Emergency Department.
