Laboratory Services

Mission Hospital Laboratory offers the latest advancements in technology and instrumentation at both our Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach campuses. Licensed clinical laboratory scientists perform tests under the direction of each laboratory’s board-certified pathologists and Medical Directors. Our state-of-the-art laboratories ensure the highest standards of testing, and are licensed by the state of California and accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Our phlebotomy staff is certified and highly experienced with specialized training in drawing blood specimens from children and infants. Because our laboratories operate 24/7, most testing is performed daily with results available to your doctor within 24 hours.

Blood Donor Services

Mission Hospital Laboratory maintains an FDA registered Blood Bank, which is accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks. If you will be undergoing a procedure, you may provide your own blood donation. We can also collect directed donations, where a family member or close friend donates blood specifically for you.

Mission’s Blood Bank always maintains an adequate supply of volunteer donor blood available for patients who may need it. You are never obligated to provide you own blood for your needs. Registered Nurses are available to answer your questions regarding blood donations.

Outreach and Outpatient Laboratory Services

Our Mission Hospital Laguna Beach Outpatient Draw Station is located in the hospital laboratory and is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Mission Viejo campus Outpatient Testing Center located in the hospital’s main lobby is open Monday through Saturday.

Mission Hospital understands that sometimes you cannot come to us, so we will come to you. Our outreach service provides pickup of specimens and delivery of reports to south Orange County physician offices Monday through Friday. Let your physician know about this service.
