Mission Cancer Center
Mission Cancer Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center and received the Outstanding Achievement Award which is the highest honor available to non-academic hospital cancer programs. The center is also a satellite research center for City of Hope.
Patients can feel confident that south Orange County's most experienced cancer specialists will treat them. Our team of affiliated surgeons and plastic surgeons are board-certified in their specialty, and more than 80 percent of our oncology staff is recognized as Oncology Certified Nurses (OCN) by the Oncology Nursing Society. Our radiation therapy department has a state-of-the-art linear accelerator, treatment planning computers and a highly trained staff. This staff, including affiliated physicians, a physicist, radiation therapists and specialized registered nurses, are a skilled, multidisciplinary team focused on treating the whole person - body, mind and spirit. By offering advanced services, state-of-the-art therapies and compassionate care, we can support the needs of oncology patients and their families.
Planning Conference
Mission Hospital Cancer Conference -- The only program of its kind in Orange County -- encourages patient participation and examination in the treatment planning process. This enables a highly trained multidisciplinary team to develop a complete picture of you as an individual and your specific circumstances. The conference empowers doctors to provide optimal treatment recommendations.
Lymphedema Program
The Lymphedema Program provides education, preventive strategies and therapy for breast cancer patients. The program begins immediately following surgery with preventive exercise instruction that helps decrease the risk of developing lymphedema. When treatment is required, our certified therapists create a comprehensive exercise and occupational therapy program to meet individual needs.
